Things to Look for When Buying Acai

The acai berry is a good source of antioxidants. Antioxidants fight cancer and other afflictions. The berry is also said to help in skin and hair care. The jury on the science behind the fruit is still out, but many agree that these healthy fruits help in many things.

When buying acai the first thing to avoid is free trials. They can be hard to cancel and typically have very little actual acai berry in them. Many of them sign you up for a monthly subscription that you may not know about and thus they are not free. These scams attempt to reel in people who don’t want to spend money on acai. The faux pass leaves you paying for low quality.

Another tip is to look at the label. You want to see “berry skin & pulp” (ideally freeze dried to preserve the nutrients) no seeds or roots. And you want to see at least 1000mg dosage (most accomplish this with two 500mg capsules because the smaller capsule is easier to swallow). If the website will not let you look at the label, do not buy from them.

Lastly, look and see how many pills are in the bottle. Some very well known general nutrition chains are selling 30 capsule bottles at 500mg and 60 capsule bottles at 250mg, both of which will only last 15 days. They do this because it makes the price “appear” to be half as much as other places.

These three pieces of advice should keep your money in your wallet and your acai pills potent and long lasting. The pills effectiveness with weight loss is contested, but they are definitely healthy fruits supported by many. Don’t limit your antioxidant diet to acai either. Be sure and get as many antioxidants as you can.
